Installing IntenseDebate on your blog
Fill in your information, and click the “I want to install IntenseDebate on my blog or website” and then click the Sigu up button to continue. IntenseDebate system will send you an automated confirmation email for you to validate the email address. Once that is finish, please login to the indetensedebate dashboard.
Click on the +Add blog/site button on the top menu bar.
Type in the web address where your blog located at.
Click on the wordpress icon, but this depends on which blog software you are using, but for this tutorial I will walk you through with wordpress.

- Download the plugin. IntenseDebate. Be sure to click on the link of that page to get the latest plugin available from the IntenseDebate Team
- Upload the file to the
wp-content/pluginsfolder on your blog. (more info)
- You need to activate the IntenseDebate plugin in order to install the comment system. Go to the Plugins menu item in the left sidebar and find IntenseDebate Comments in the list.Click Activate.
- From the backend of your wordpress, click on the left panel, Settings > IntenseDebate
Setting Up IntenseDebate
In this screen, you will need to enter the account information. either by email|password or username|user key, any other combination will not work. User Key can be view at your IntenseDebate .
How to obtain your IntenseDebate User Key
Importing your existing comments to IntenseDebate
Import your WordPress comments into IntenseDebate. For your old WordPress comments to show up in the plugin, they need to be imported to give them all the IntenseDebate comment goodness.
The process usually takes less than a few hours, but times may vary depending on how many comments you’re importing. You’ll be notified via email when the import is complete.
Note: Until your comments are imported they will not show up in the IntenseDebate comment system. Don’t worry though, your comments are still safe and will be ready as soon as the import completes.
By default the Checkbox for
Use IntenseDebate's default moderation settings (recommended) should be check. Please leave as is.
By enabling this option, IntenseDebate will add commonly-abused keywords and phrases to your moderation settings, so that you can avoid spam in your comments. You can always edit/delete these values later if you don’t want them any more.
Once you click on the link, seat back and relax.
